He gracefully maneuvers his tools as if they were extensions of his own body. His fingers and hands have memorized the traditions of his craft, moving in concert with one another to bring the designs that lie above his sawdust covered workbench to life.
Every fluid movement reflects years of devoted practice, years of trial and error and years of victories and defeats that are simply a part of learning to do what you love.
This is the scene you unearth when you step inside the Moore & Giles workshop and find our cabinetmaker Brandon Ulland hard at work.
Using traditional, time-honored woodworking techniques, Brandon crafts each piece of our limited collection of furniture carefully and meticulously by hand.
A collection inspired by our experiences working with leather craftsmen around the world, it features luxurious vegetable tanned leather and locally sourced materials that pay homage to our southern roots and help showcase our leather in a unique and unexpected ways.
Although the aesthetic of the designs are imbued with modern day appeal, elements of traditional craftsmanship can be found in every piece.
From lathe-turned knobs to dovetailed drawers to hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery – the collection reflects our commitment to quality while celebrating the inherent beauty of our leather paired with the finest natural elements that surround us.
